Up late one nite surfing the net and came across this site for Irvin HS, then came across some classmates from that period, how wonderful. Found classmates like Helda Green, Freda Wright (Gross), James Durman, Bob Malone and so many more. I came in the Middle of my junior year from Kaiserlautern American HS in Germany, the year and a half at Irvin made me a Rocket forever. Mrs Etheridge, a woman who made a lasting impression on my life and so many more. If any of you out there remember me, please feel free to email me and lets get reconnected. In God's Good Grace, travel in piece.

I am so excited to have found this site. I went to Crosby and Irving High until my father was transfered to Germany. I believe I was in the 8th or 9th grade. I do remember Johnny Ray, Roger Dial, Karen Aydelotte, my next door neighbor. Betty Calorie, Lynn and Donna. My sister, Martie (Margaret)was in the same grade with me. . Would love to hear from any of you that remember me.

It was enjoyable to check the site out. Mr. Massello was my algebra teacher. I was a poor student with tons of ability. He had me come in after school one day to explain to me that I needed to apply myself...in other words to quit goofing off and being a class clown. He told me that he knew that I was very intelligent and that I needed to apply myself. This was such a kind conversation that I have remembered it over all these years. He was a wonderful teacher. I ended up being a Field Artillery Officer in the Army....I was selected for FA OCS because of the math skills I learned from Mr. Massello. It would have been wonderful if I could have told him that his faith in my God given ablities was justified and that I retired a Colonel. He taught me more than math...he taught me kindness as well. We had such wonderful teachers. At the time we didn't know what we had, did we? I had no idea of Mr. Massello's military background. Thanks again...I enjoyed the visit. Jim

Dear Ray and Donna, It was wonderful to see you again. Thanks so very much for all your hard work, it paid off. I know it was not easy for you to make the long trip but I hope you made it home without problems. I must say that my expectations of the reunion were by far met. I had a blast and was sorry to see it end but was ready to get back home. Loved making new friends and getting to know everyones spouses. The accomadations were great and the food was excellent. My trip home was a little long due to problems at the Houston Airport but I made it home at 1am on Tuesday morning. I hope that we can all keep in touch with each other until we meet again, hopefully in five years. If you are ever in the Baton Rouge area please look me up. Take care and to God be the glory for a wonderful reunion. Love ya lots, Debbi

Dearest friends, I am so looking forward to this reunion as I have never been able to attend one before now. Many wonderful memories of Irvin have flooded my mind over the past few months in digging through pictures and looking at all the yearbooks. I can honestly say we had great teachers and fantastic student body. Our school spirit was awesome and sounds like it still is. I am excited about seeing everyone again to rekindle old friendships and make new ones. The reunion committee has done a wonderful job with putting this reunion together. My Chapeau is off to all of you. Love from a Cajun girl, Debbi

lo and behold; been thinking about many of you over the past several months and started nosing around and look what I found. a generation (in the sense of biblical time)has passed and here we all are again. just been hanging out, teaching radio news and mass comm history at arizona state for about 17 years now (and absolutely not...I don't teach the kind of crap we see and hear every evening...but it's what they have to do to earn a living so don't blame them or their instructors :-)) would be pleased to hear from any '67 out there. mike casavantes "the first casualty is truth"

I was typing some names in my browser of people I knew at Irvin. I typed in Robin Atkins, and your site popped up. I notice you have made contact with him. He was a good friend in high school. If you can send his Email address to me that would be appreciated. I knew a Ray Shasteen at Texas Tech. I wonder if you are the same Ray. If so, we did not leave on best of terms, but I hope all is forgotten, and if not, at least forgiven.

I am shocked and amazed that as 'long' as this page has been up and running that NO ONE from the class of '67' has posted any entry of any kind..... Just acknowledging that your classmate Ray has done an awesome job would be sufficent..... Lamenting on whether or not you are looking forward to the Reunion.... Come on '67' I know you have something worthwhile to proclaim.... do it on this Page...... Keep up the good work Ray !!!!!!!!!!

I think the class of '67' is almost as AWESOME as the class of '66'.... You all have stepped up the plate, pulled a rabbit out of the hat and are preparing for yourselves the most incredible 40th Reunion..... Ray and the others have been OUTSTANDING in providing information and keeping everyone in the loop..... KUDOS !!!!!!!!! Those of us from '66' who will be joining you in your Celebration are looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with 'old' friends. and putting faces to the NEW ones we have met thru our communications on MyFamily..... Thanks for allowing the 'other' 60's classes to participate in your Celebration.....
