Note: Claude E Cook in OTTER pg 29 speculates that James "Pedlar" is the son of John and Charlotte Judith. This would necessitate Jesse Shasteen his brother also being placed here
but circa 1755-1761 when she would have been 56 - 62. Note below Magdalaine II dob 1743/44 would have been when Charlotte was 44-45, pushing the limits.
Charlotte's death in 1775 and no indication of a third marriage for John makes this a bit of a stretch in my opinion, barring errors in dob/dod and marriages
but does leave open the possibility of adoption and out of wedlock children.

This theory does leave a potential for James Buff being born circa 1727-1730 as a possible placement in this line. Perhaps not found as in military 1746/1747?

             |      |—Thomas Porter
( b 26 Jul 1767 St James Northam Parish, Goochland VA d )

Potential for additional children after 1743 possible, not unreasonable for Charlotte to have had last child up to 45 or so in 1745-46. Also potential for first child before first child born 1715
when Jean was 21. and before John Jr in 1721. Also Marianne could have had a first child circa 1715

Births from DR, note 1728 __ son Etienne Chastain

Nothing else looked like Shasteen except Sassain (sp?) and Chastine
